The Stuart bands are fortunate to have received vital support from a variety of individuals and groups outside the school system. While financial donations are perhaps the most obvious way to help, any kind of support is gratefully accepted and valued, and makes the donor a part of the growing Stuart band community.
In the current economic climate, financial support in particular is more valuable than ever. Donors can allocate their donations for a specific aspect of the band program (the Strope Scholarship Fund, private lesson scholarships, future commissioning projects, etc.) or to the general fund, where they can be used to support a variety of student needs.

If you have any musical instruments in your home which are no longer in use and are in decent working condition (or could be with inexpensive repair), the Stuart bands would be happy to accept them as donations suitable for tax deduction. There are other resources suitable for donation as well, from recording equipment to office supplies. Contact Mr. Thomas at director@raiderband.org for more information.
If you are a professional performing musician, or are in contact with one, the Stuart bands would love your help! As one example, you may wish to come and give a free or reduced-price group lesson to a section of the band, which can serve to recruit future students. (More than half of the students at Stuart qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Many students in the bands cannot afford private lessons.) Finally, there are myriad ways to help with our wonderful band booster organization. Fitting and altering marching uniforms; chaperoning students on trips; making or organizing food for events; data entry and other office-related work; the list goes on.
